How well will the Smart Case protect my iPod?

A layer of padding, an impact-resistant insert, and a soft Ultra-suede™ liner keep your iPod safe from the bumps and bruises of daily life. Water-resistant material, with rubberized sides creates a snug fit to keep your iPod secure, while lowered sides make for easy extraction and insertion.

Will the iPod in the Smart Case still fit in my pocket?

Yes. The Slip style Smart Case provides impact protection with minimal bulk. The sleek outer material enables the Smart Case to easily slide into and out of your pocket and the rubberized sides are easy to grip. The Clip or Flap Smart Cases may still be able to fit into your pocket, but these conveniences slightly increase the depth of the case and allow the case to be attached to a belt or strap instead.

How well will the Smart Case fit my iPod?

The Smart Case is designed specifically for your iPod and should fit like a glove. Your case may feel a little snug at first but the fit will get more comfortable over time as your iPod and Smart Case become well acquainted.

What is the best way to insert my iPod into the case? Why?

If you have a nano or Touch, insert your iPod screen-end first. That way you can put your ear buds in while the iPod is protected inside the case. If you have a Classic, the earbud jack is on the top, so put it in bottom first.

Will my Smart Case scratch my screen?

NO! It is lined with a 100% scratch-free microfiber material. We’ve researched many different lining options. Many of the older iPod plastic covers scratched the iPod if you merely looked at it the wrong way…so you can imagine what would happen when you slid the iPod in and out of those cases all the time. Ultra-Suede is the only material we found that is absolutely scratch-free. In fact, it keeps your iPod shiny and polished.

Are there stitches inside the Smart Case that could scratch my iPod?

NO! The Smart Case interior has NO exposed stitches (just like the exterior of the case) so your iPod will only come into contact with the no-scratch Ultra-suede - so NO SCRATCHES. You may notice too, that the lack of exposed stitching on the outside, give the cases and bags a sleeker, more refined look.

Is the Clip removable from the Clip style Smart Case? If yes, what remains after the clip has been removed?

Yes, the locking Ultra-Clip IS removable. Compress the spring-loaded button on top, turn the clip 90 degrees and then simply slide it off. To re-attach the clip, slide it on at a 90 degree angle until you hear the locking mechanism click into place. With the clip removed, the case is almost as minimal as the Slip version.... We say almost, because there is a small knob that stays planted on the back of the case onto which the Ultra-Clip locks. The knob is small, but you can feel it when slipped into a tight jeans pocket.

How does the “Flap” style attach to my bag strap?

The Flap style Smart Case has two flaps attached to the standard Slip style case. These flaps wrap around your bag or backpack strap and Velcro closed securely.

What if my Smart Case gets dirty? Can I wash it?

The vibrant material used on the outside of the Smart Case is washable, so you can spot wash it with water or even a mild solvent like diluted Windex™ or 409™.
