Overview

The iPod Hi-Fi Speaker Case from WaterField Designs is a fully-padded and protective travel case with shoulder strap that allows you to transport your iPod Hi-Fi safely and securely. The case is made of durable ballistic nylon and high-density foam to protect the iPod Hi-Fi. An impact-resistant plastic plate provides additional protection for the iPod Hi-Fi’s front grill and speakers.

Designed for in-case use

The most impressive feature of the case is that it is designed to allow the iPod Hi-Fi to be used while inside the case. Access to the iPod Hi-Fi is enabled via the oval-shaped opening at the front of the case: simply fold back the front flap of the case so the flap is behind the speaker. The covered slot at the bottom of the case provides access to the audio-in jack and the power cable. There is no need to remove the iPod Hi-Fi at all!

Additional features

The case has five exterior storage pockets for your iPod and its accessories. Additionally, the case offers locking zippers and metal hardware for durability. The inside of the case has a soft interior liner to protect your iPod Hi-Fi and keep it looking brand new. The case measures 19.5in x 8.0in x 8.0in, weighs 1.7lbs, and is available in black with your choice of blue, lead, or taxi checkerboard trim.

The bottom line

Like other cases from WaterField Designs that I have tested, I found this case to be extremely durable and easy to carry. Because it is designed specifically for the iPod Hi-Fi, it is measured to be a perfect fit. The iPod Hi-Fi Speaker Case retails for $149 and is an exceptional value and an absolute must-have if you plan to take your iPod Hi-Fi on the move.
