Pros:
Top-quality construction. Small and lightweight. Great laptop protection. Soft lined G4 compartment.
Cons: Shoulder strap needs to be more comfortable. No outside mobile phone storage.
There are those few companies that you
know produce a quality product. Apple Computer. Bentley Automotive,
McIntosh Audio, and Waterfield Designs. I am a firm believer in W.D. I
have been using their Large Cargo Bag with the Sleeve Case for over a
year now and I still love it. It does it all.
The Racer X is another great bag. It is not designed to hold all
that the Large Cargo does and as a result is substantially lighter.
There are two zippered compartments and one pocket on the back of the
bag for papers, magazines, etc.
The laptop compartment is wonderful and the best I have seen. The
Ti:G4 slides into a soft fabric lined compartment that has plenty of
padding. On either side of the laptop there are rigid inserts and the
computer sits, suspended in a sling made of neoprene. The fit is snug
and custom and I wish every manufacturer of sleeves would line their
products with something like this. Hell, it looked so comfy I wanted to
hangout in there. All manufacturers should line their sleeves this way.
The second compartment had 5 elastic pockets of various sizes that
run the full width of the bag. When I say elastic I mean that the
ENTIRE pocket in made out of elastic. What this means is that whatever
you put in them stays there. Period.
The handle is made out of what looks to be a mountain bike
handlebar grip. There’s no excuse for dropping this bag. The shoulder
strap is removable just as it should be and the shoulder pad can slide
which allows the wearer to wear the bag off one shoulder or across the
chest. I think the actual shoulder strap is too narrow. It needs to be
about 1” wider and I think it would be more comfortable. Or maybe the
Deluxe strap would be the way to go.
One of the things I love about Waterfield Designs bags is that they
are black but always have a touch of decoration that is simple, classy,
and adds a touch of personality to the bag.
Once again Gary at Waterfield Designs has produced a fantastic bag for the Titanium G4. You can’t go wrong here.
