Not too long ago, we had the pleasure to review several WaterField
Design products. Of these, the iSight Pouch and iPod case were reviewed
and both received high marks and awards. Why stop at these two cases;
with my trusty little Apple 12-inch PowerBook at my side nearly all the
time, I felt the need to test and review some kind of lightweight
carrying case or sleeve for my versatile laptop. Gary at sfbags.com was
gracious enough to send me a sample, and i'm pleased to report that
WaterField Designs have another winner on their hands.
Designed
for the IT Executive or WiFi Cafe shop addict, the WaterField
SleeveCase brings a solution to our desire for a clutter-free world.
Laptop users, in general, seek an uncomplicated life, so why hamper
this with a massive and ugly generic laptop bag? I've gone through so
many laptop bags and cases that I now have an overflowing burial site
in my basement. If I wanted a notebook case that was a foot thick and
weighed 40 pounds, I would have found one blindfolded. But, finding one
that is slender, sleek, svelte... well, you get my point. If I'm only
going to a friend's house, a Starbuck coffee house, the park, or to a
store and back - I DO NOT need to bring every cable and accessory known
to mankind for my laptop. The WaterField SleeveCase fills a much needed
niche where few manufacturers have ventured.
So,
off I went to request a Sleeve laptop case from one of the best
manufacturers out there. However, unlike most manufacturers that simply
have color variations of said case, WaterField went the extra lightyear
by offering no fewer than 21 SleeveCase sizes with four main accessory
options. So, that's what - 84 variations? Without a doubt, WaterField
will have a SleeveCase that fits your needs, and if you're uncertain,
they even provide a chart on their site which you can use to determine
what size you need. Off the bat, WaterField has cases that fit 88
laptops from nine companies, including: Apple, Compaq, Dell, Fujitsu,
Gateway, HP, IBM, Sony, and Toshiba. The options include whether you
want a Horizontal or Vertical orientation, D-Rings with the Shoulder
Strap, the Ballistic Flap, and the Piggyback pouch.
