WaterField Designs - iPod Cases (Best Case/Bag on Market!) *Review*

Company: WaterField Designs
Website: www.sfbags.com
Price: iPod inMotion Speaker Case $49

For every 10 cases made, one stands out. For every 25 cases made, one really stands out and for every 50 cases made, one incomparably stands out. The iPod inMotion Speaker Case is the one in those 50 cases. This case without question is the best built and most useful I have found to date, nothing comes close!

I like to think of WaterField Designs like Apple in the sense of "clean and simple". WaterField is like Apple in many ways to that aspect. From the two cases of theirs I have seen so far, the iPod inMotion Speaker Case and the iPod Gear Pouch (Reviewed below) I am thunderstruck as to the extraordinary magnitude of attention to detail that has been put in to these cases. It is unreal as to the quality of these cases. Everything is impeccable from the material used to the zippers.

Now beyond the quality of these cases the inMotion Speaker Case holds more than I or anyone else could begin to conceive. The inMotion Speaker case features three compartments. The first top one closet to the front is for the Altec Lansing inMotion Speaker system. Because I currently do not have an Altec Lansing inMotion speaker system for the iPod (which one of the compartments in the case is designed to hold) I used that compartment to store my many earphones and flanges. The second one is the top compartment closest to the rear. I used this one to hold an innumerable amount of products. This section held my iPod in a large case (The oPod case found at otterbox.com which I will review in the next week), two portable headphone amps, iPod armband, iCleaner bottles, iPod power stick, car charger, PodWave portable iPod speakers and a PodSleeve (Very amazing indeed!). The third and last compartment was the front cable compartment used for holding, you guessed it... cables! This section of the case didn't just hold my cables; it held all 8 of my cables and then some. It held 5 mini to mini interconnects 2 special purpose cables and one PocketDock.

I just cannot say enough about this case. Even the stitching is perfect. I could not find one thing wrong with this case after holding it in my possession for over a month. It came with me to Los Angeles and back and held up without a scratch or in this case without a thread torn. I love everything about this case down to the colors. There is color on the outside as well as the inside. The case also features a metal D-Ring on each side to attach the included shoulder strap. This is one of the first shoulder straps I have that actually is the length it should be, not too small and not too big. I find the strap comfortable however if you do not, for another $10 you can purchase the WF signature shoulder strap cover which will certainly make this more comfortable on your shoulder.

I don't know what else I could say about this case other than IT IS the perfect case. Nothing comes close! It IS unbeatable. For the price I would almost think it's a rip, for WaterField Designs. This case is almost like something you would find on Rodeo Dr. in Beverly Hills selling for $150. Call me what you wish however I and quite a few others I have shown this case to agree with me. This iPod inMotion Speaker Case from WaterField Designs/SF Bags is unconditionally the best case/bag on the market for your iPod and accessories.

Available colors Blue, Checker, Lead, Taxi.

The Good: Unsurpassed quality and attention to detail. Unconceivable amount of space. Unbelievable price.
The Bad: Nothing!

I am proud to present this product with my first official A+!

Company: WaterField Designs

Price: iPod Gear Pouch $35

The iPod Gear Pouch is just another quality case from WF. Easily put this case is the younger brother of the iPod inMotion Speaker Case in a few different respects. First off is the size which is a good deal smaller with two compartments instead of three as featured on the inMotion Speaker case. Next is what it can carry which has to do with the smaller size of course. Finally is the price. The iPod Gear Pouch will run you $15 less than its big brother and will set you back $35.

The iPod Gear Pouch features the same high quality as the inMotion Speaker Case and the two share most of the same features with the exception of the inMotion Speaker Case being twice the size. To me the iPod Gear Pouch feels somewhat like a messenger bag for the iPod while the inMotion Speaker Case feels like a true traveler’s bag for the iPod.

Available colors Blue, Lead, White, Red.

The Good: The same high quality as it's big brother (inMotion Speaker Case), same great features as it's big brother with the exception of half the space.

The Bad: Not enough space for my use.

My official rating for this product is:

Bottom line, I highly recommend the iPod inMotion Speaker case from WaterField Designs if you are looking for a true quality traveler’s bag for your iPod and accessories and the iPod Gear Pouch if you just need a case to hold you iPod and a few accessories to run around town with or to get on a plane with. Keep in mind though; if you are considering the iPod Gear Pouch and have future plans for more iPod gear it would be more worth while to spend another $15 on the inMotion Speaker Case.

Everything down to the customer service is amazing from WaterField. I was utterly amazed by the service I received and at the speed in which I did. I am very impressed with WaterField Designs and I have recommended them to anyone looking for a great case!

WaterField Designs (www.sfbags.com) has a great looking, simple to navigate website. Check it out!

No questions IpodSF, but I applaud your excellent review of Waterfield's two iPod bags. I opted to purchase the smaller iPod Gear Pouch and would completely agree with your assessment that the Gear Pouch quickly gets crowded, especially in my case with an iPod, SuperMono, AKG K24P's, UE-5c's, PocketDock, etc.

I have found the workmanship of the Waterfields to be impeccable.

I don't have the bags in question, but the Waterfield designs I have had, are of amazing quality.

Totally! I consider WaterField Designs the Apple of the bag/case industry.

Except that they don't outsource. They even give you the little postcard saying something like "san francisco: the rent is high, competition intense but we would not want to be anywhere else" (or something to that extent).
