An old friend

This is the second Victor wallet for me. After having bought the first after its introduction, it was time to retire the veteran and bring in a fresh and tight replacement. Where did I turn? To a new Victor of course.... and what becomes of ‘old faithful’? I keep it, for it is wise and brings a smile to the face, just like me!!

Very handy for my more formal dress needs.

I use a Finn for everyday use in shorts or jeans. On more formal occasions I use the Victor when I carry less and want it to be unobtrusive. Great leather, handy.

Very Slim and Very Convenient

I've been using this for two weeks now, and it's the slimmest wallet I've ever had. It makes taking cards out very easy. I am having a little trouble with taking out cash (I came from a tri-fold wallet) but I wonder if that is something that will take getting used to.

Convenient & Practical

Easy to use. Everything is visible. The band helps keep it snug in your front pocket

Nicely made but too bulky to be of practical use

Let me start by stating that Waterfield designs and makes some very well thought out briefcases and backpacks. However their small goods tend to be too large to be of practical use. The Victor wallet is large and has big capacity but I find it too big to be something I can use in EDC. I prefer minimalist designs that fit conveniently in a front pocket. There are numerous competitors that make more sense from my use. I'm giving it 3 stars because I like the brand and think the build quality is above reproach but for me it does meet my needs as a minimalist wallet.

How do you suggest I clean the leather?

Actually, we suggest not doing anything. Part of the beauty of highly distressed leather develops as it gets used over time— with rain or getting bumped around. Leather conditioners will darken and alter the leather, maybe not something you desire. If at some point you want to condition the leather - we suggesting using Mink Oil. This will darken a bit at first - but will keep the leather very nice. You can also spread the oils around and smooth them out a bit with a hair dryer and your hand. Any leather discoloration or marks are straight from the actual hide itself; it's part of the character of the leather. That’s how you know it’s the real thing. Each hide has it own look; it's unique just like you. With naturally tanned leather, there's always going to be a bit of character on it that's hard to control. It's one of the reasons we like it so much, you'll always be getting a one-of-a-kind bag.
