“Waterfield has designed what for me is the perfect bag for the iPad Pro. It couldn't be any smaller or thinner and still fit the big iPad, and the two pockets handle the essentials I need. This is all in an attractive case that will last years.”
Technology Tell - February 16, 2014
“[T]he Outback Solo for iPad Air is another quality design from WaterField, made with the level of craftsmanship you've come to expect from them.”
Cult of Mac - February 11, 2014
“This is a cool-looking bag no doubt, and the materials – canvas and leather – only get better as they get older.”
“And as iPads are only likely to get smaller and thinner, it's a case that will actually be useful for years to come.”
“Perfect for what it does, not suited for much else. It's a study in well-considered compromise. Also: Indiana frikkin' Jones!”
TUAW - January 6, 2014
“Waterfield Designs is known for durable and stylish sleeves and bags, and the Outback Solo continues that tradition with an affordable design that will last for years.”
Rating: 3-1/2 stars (out of 4 stars possible)
Windows Central - February 3, 2015
“The best way I can summarize my thoughts on the Outback Solo is that if Indiana Jones had a Surface Pro 3, then this is the bag he would use to carry it. It's clearly tough enough to accompany him on any quest, but it's handsome and intellectual design is also perfect for when he is lecturing in the classroom.”
Techno Maverick - October 30, 2015
“The Outback Solo for Surface Pro 4 comes highly recommended by this reviewer.”
Is the bag water resistant?
The waxed canvas and leather are both water resistant and should keep the device inside dry should you find yourself without an umbrella in the rain. However, we do not recommend taking your Outback Solo for a swim.
Does the flap open up on its own?
The magnetic closure keeps the flap securely fastened on the outer front of your bag.
What else can I carry in the Solo?
The Solo was designed to transport just the essentials— the device, power, a phone and wallet. However, people have put a small tablet in one of the pockets. In a pinch, this can also be used as a handsome general purpose carry-all if the device is taken out.
