Had I known that International was this big, I would’ve gone for the regular size. I don’t mind folding my bills that much anyway. Otherwise, I do love my Micro Wallet and the waxed canvas looks just perfect.
I bought the brown leather Waterfield Micro Wallet in the compact size, and now think it’s one of the best wallets I own. I have a number of other Waterfield wallets, including the new passport-sized Finn Access wallet in brown leather and a Micro Wallet in waxed canvas, as well as a nice bifold wallet from another company that I've used as my default wallet for about 3 years. After having a credit card drop out of the bifold on a trip to Switzerland a year ago—and having dealt with the negative consequences of that for months—I decided I wanted to try a zip wallet. I bought the passport Finn Access, but although it will likely prove its worth on trips, it's just too big to carry in my pocket for daily use. I got the canvas Micro Wallet, and although I liked the size, it was lacking something and the rigidity of the canvas made it feel surprisingly bulky for such a small object, so I finally got the leather one. It's difficult to convey what a different wallet the Micro Wallet is with the new brown leather than it was with the canvas. It just feels a lot better in the hand, and less bulky in the pocket. It seems to be a thinner leather than the one used on the Finn, but that actually makes it a bit more stylish too. It's amazing how much I can fit in the Micro Wallet: everything I could fit in my giant bifold fits and then some. I wasn't planning on making the leather Micro Wallet my default wallet—I originally just got it for concerts and the like when I’m not carrying much—but it can hold so much, I have started to use it all the time. I can see why someone might go for a larger wallet: it might be nice to have separate pockets for my cards, especially when I pull my cash out (I like to use the cash to separate my essential from non-essential cards), but for now the Micro-Wallet is enough. As an added bonus, it fits inside my Finn Access passport wallet, so I may bring both on trips now. I highly recommend the wallet.
It works a good price love it
What is the beautiful leather used with the Micro Wallet?
We use a full-grain cowhide with soft, supple feel of fine garment deerskin as well as the toughness and durability of cowhide.
What is the difference between ballistic nylon and waxed canvas?
Both are extremely durable materials. Ballistic nylon can take a pounding and will look the same years down the line. Waxed canvas takes on character and nicks and scrapes giving it a " been around the world" look. If you have multiple Micro Wallets, you can mix colors to help identify what's in each one.
What is a self-locking zipper?
This type of zipper “locks” when folded down and keeps the zipper from sliding. This prevents accidents of items spilling out. We use zippers from YKK, the highest quality zipper vendor around.
