The Gramercy Leather Sling is a compact full-grain leather crossbody that blends sophisticated styling with uncompromising functionality. Handcrafted in small batches in San Francisco, it features two scratch-free Ultrasuede® pockets for a phone and glasses, and an authentic paragliding buckle that adds a modern accent to the classic leather silhouette.

Another great bag from Waterfield

I got this bag more for travel. I have been using technical fabric bags with multiple zippers and pockets and decided that it was time to get a simple well made leather one where I don’t have to rummage through zippered pockets to take out stuff. The Gramercy is well made, elegantly designed and big enough to fit my IPad mini. It compliments my compact Waterfield Marqui bag which is my everyday EDC bag when you don’t want to carry too much stuff. As usual these bags will last a life time and still look good.

A long term Waterfield fan, the Gramercy sling is exactly what I needed to upgrade my existing bag. Great product and highly recommended.

Gary and the guys have done it again! This Gramercy Leather Sling is the perfect size for minimal daily carry and the quality is second to none. Love the leather, love the design, and of course, the fact it is made with care in SF CA!

Great bag - for me just an inch too small

Love the quality and the features. It is a terrific bag. I love the easy side access as well as the buckled side pocket. The large internal pocket could do with a soft fabric on the inside. For me I would love another inch in length. With my wallet and glasses case I find not much room for keys or anything else and then because of the other stuff inside the main compartment I find the buckled side pocket becomes constrained for easily fitting my iPhone so I don’t use it as a result. One more inch in length I feel would provide just that little bit more flexibility and better fit for everything. Will persevere but may go back to my old one - see how we go.

Elegant Bag

This is a well crafted and high quality bag. In size it fits between the shinjuku crossbody and sling, but is a little deeper. The text says there are two lined pockets for a phone or glasses and that’s true but they are not in the interior although one of photos shows the phone there. The paraglide buckle on the flap is nice but more ornamental than functional and the pocket under it is a little tight. Being leather, the main compartment is a little stiff to open but that may loosen up as the bag ages. It’s kind of a more formal bag that will look great in the evening or in cooler climates such as SF or NY when you dress up a little. At least that’s true for the black leather one I got. Perhaps you should get it in the less formal leather color if you want a more everyday bag. All in all I like it very much and will put it in rotation with my other excellent products from Waterfield.

CARING FOR YOUR LEATHER BAG

We usually recommend not doing anything to the full-grain leather of your Gramercy Sling, letting it develop its own beautiful patina. However, you may want to freshen it up a bit with a leather conditioner. Gary shows you how in this video for the Cozmo Leather Briefcase.

The leather may darken a bit, so test the reaction first on a spot that's not highly visible, like the bottom of the bag. For the distressed leather we use, you can spread the oils around and smooth them out with heat from a hair dryer.
