Lexington Leather Brief

When I received my first Lexington All Leather Briefcase in black I admit I wasn’t quite sure quite what to think. At first blush it was hard for me to determine what was so different about it compared to so many off the rack almost disposable briefcases one sees everywhere. Then I started using it and discovered its understated elegance and well-thought design. It looks professional which is appropriate both for the courtroom and for meeting with clients. It holds everything I need to carry most days. I comfortably fit a MacBook Pro (14 or 16, I’ve tried both), my iPad Pro 11, chargers phones, etc, and client files. It hold more than my older, heavier, larger barrister bag largely because the storage pouches and pockets are so well thought out. When I unzip it, it is very easy to find and retrieve whatever it is I need. I even use the key leash, swing the Lexington around from its amazingly comfortable and well-built included strap, unzip, fish out the leash and retrieve my keys in a super easy way. The construction, high quality materials, functional design, and understated beauty are really becoming apparent to me the more I use it. In fact, I like it so much I just ordered and received the other two colors. They are all beautiful “lifetime” quality cases that I will look forward to mixing and matching in various settings. I like the black and chocolate for more formal settings. the Grizzly will likely be my casual go to. I can’t wait see see that one age and add character over time…

After a very long search for the right briefcase, I finally found it. I wanted something that looked professional enough to bring into a very corporate setting, but not so formal or luxurious looking that it would look out of place with business casual clothes. The dark brown leather hits that balance perfectly.

The materials and construction are excellent, and I really love the look and feel of the leather. There’s plenty of room for my laptop, work papers, charger, and even some gym clothes, plus a water bottle or coffee thermos. The shoulder strap is extremely comfortable and makes the bag easy to carry even when loaded up.

Most importantly, it’s just a really enjoyable bag to use. It looks great, feels great in the hand, and has exactly the combination of professional and casual that I was looking for. Really happy I found this one.

Bag is exceptional quality, I left an additional note with my order and email follow up, to leave out the big utility buckle. But was denied and told that my request can’t be done as it would hold up production. When really it would hasten it with Less attachments but okay…

I initially purchased the chocolate-brown Lexington brief, which I ended up returning for the grizzly version. The former had a slight greenish hue. The customer service was impeccable, and I received my grizzly bag in a quick turnaround.

First, the look of the bag: I love it, and I much prefer the grizzly leather and look forward to its patina developing.

The construction is solid as well. No defects, well-made, and I can tell this bag will last a lifetime. One thing I would have liked: the inside pockets to have zippers, and the laptop and pad pockets to be a bit "firmer." As they are now, they are a little floppy. This is me nitpicking, and I haven't run into any issues with the construction as it is now.

Functionally, this bag contains everything I wanted. Full leather, carries all my tech gear, a water bottle strap, and more room to spare. The included suspension strap is also magnificent and comfortable. The double-sided feature of the pad gives extra support depending on whether you wear the bag on the side or over the shoulder.
