Our first-ever, all-leather crossbody, the Hudson, blends sophisticated styling with modern functionality. We use only premium, full-grain leather and handsew each one in small batches in San Francisco. The Hudson's unique design features a double-layer leather flap and an innovative dual magnetic closure system.

The Hudson Leather Crossbody is part of our All-Leather Collection, bags that blend timeless style and quality materials with uncompromising functionality. Each bag is individually constructed and requires longer lead times for a complete production.

Let me start out by giving kudos to the Waterfield customer service. They were very responsive to my inquiries about the Hudson Leather Crossbody and even made sure that it was delivered in time for my upcoming trip - a couple of weeks early. This allowed me time to test it out and help me figure out what items i really needed to carry with me as my everyday carry. So far I have two cellphones (work and personal), digital camera - Fuji X100VI, slim wallet, keys, ID card for work, air pods, two pairs of glasses, and still has room for other items, like charger/cables, battery pack. I feel bad that my compact executive backpack is sitting in my closet getting a much needed break, but it will eventually make it back into the rotation. If you've been on the fence about getting this bag, do it, you won't be disappointed. Gary and the team have created another well made quality bag.

My go-to leather bag—finally found.

I’ve always wanted an all-leather bag and had my eye on their Executive Leather Messenger for years, but I never went through with it since I didn’t really have much use for a messenger bag. When the Hudson Crossbody came out, I couldn’t have hit that buy button any faster. I’m glad to say the bag absolutely delivers. The full-grain leather feels as premium as ever, and the automatic buckle lock adds a nice touch of security since it only opens in a specific way. What I love most is that it fits my thin knit jacket and all my essentials perfectly, making it ideal for my weekly cinema trips. Cannot wait for it to develop a patina!

Love my new Hudson Crossbody

I had been looking for a high quality cross-body this size for quite awhile and knew the moment I saw the Hudson that it would be perfect for me. It’s beautiful, well-designed, perfectly functional, and very well-made. I’ve done alot of business with Waterfield over the years and they never disappoint. As a 75-year-old 5th generation San Franciscan myself, it makes me proud to know we’ve hosted a well-intentioned, community-engaged and highly regarded company like Waterfield for so many years. HERITAGE MEETS INNOVATION

The Hudson blends heritage craftsmanship with modern conveniences for a unique look. Instead of a zipper, it has a novel magnetic closure using a string of rare-earth magnets. Simply slip your hand into the Crossbody to retrieve your phone, camera, or other necessities.

EASY-CLOSE FLAP

The double-layer leather flap snaps securely shut with a magnetic Fidlock buckle. The two sides are magnetically drawn together, closing the flap with a satisfying click.

FULL-GRAIN LEATHER

The authentic, full-grain leather we use to make the Hudson Crossbody is absolutely beautiful. See it, touch it, and you'll be hooked.

The distressed leather develops a beautiful patina, and your bag will age well as the years roll by.

HOW YOUR CROSSBODY GETS MADE

Here's a glimpse of how our design team developed the Hudson Crossbody from idea to reality. Their creative process involves hands-on work every step of the way as they dial down the design to create something beautiful and functional.

CARING FOR YOUR LEATHER BAG

We usually recommend not doing anything to the full-grain leather of your Hudson Crossbody, letting it develop its own beautiful patina. However, you may want to freshen it up a bit with a leather conditioner. Gary shows you how in this video for the Cozmo Leather Briefcase.

The leather may darken a bit, so test the reaction first on a spot that's not highly visible, like the bottom of the bag. For the distressed leather we use, you can spread the oils around and smooth them out with heat from a hair dryer.
