Well built but small

Really nice bag. Just much smaller than you think looking at the dimensions. I bought the Stout hoping it would hold similar to my saddleback thin breifcase, unfortunately it holds a lot less. The top is narrow which significantly reduces the amount of stuff that can fit. It looks good. The zip open top is great. If they could make the top wider when closed and make the latch adjustable. You can latch it both if the top is full or if the bag is not as full. If you travel with limited material and gear it is great. The computer sleeve and ipad sleeve are excellent.

I love it!

It looks nice and rugid. It is light and comfortable. I am very happy with my backpack. I've taken it on two trips now and it travels as well as it works everyday.

WWII-ERA BUCKLE GETS RE-PURPOSED

Those in the know will find it very easy to open the flap, others will find it challenging. Back in the day when you needed a quick release with safeguards, this was the buckle of choice.

HOW TO FRESHEN UP YOUR CANVAS

Keep your bag looking new by applying wax when you think it needs a little refresh. Although any wax is applicable, you can use Martexin Original Wax which was initially used to coat your canvas bag.

CARING FOR YOUR LEATHER FLAP

We usually recommend not doing anything to the full-grain leather flap of your bag, letting it develop it's own beautiful patina over time.

However, you may want to freshen it up a bit with a leather conditioner. The leather may darken a bit, so test the reaction first on a spot that's not highly visible, like the other side of the flap.

For the distressed leather that we use, you can also spread the oils around and smooth them out a bit with heat from a hair dryer. Here's a video of Gary showing how you can do this using the Cozmo all-leather brief as an example.
