We use the best long-lasting, durable materials we can find to make your bags and cases.
FULL GRAIN LEATHER
No skimping. We use full grain, natural leather. It's the toughest part of the hide with the tightest grain. It's also the most expensive. We choose the "distressed" kind, the one that bears the marks of the cow, so you know it's real. But, after a few years and a few more scratches, it develops a patina that's unique to you.
The ballistic nylon is super rugged and durable; it's the same material that bullet-proof vests are made out of. It stays amazingly new-looking even after decades of use.
Not all ballistic nylon is the same. The one we use is not stiff and does not have a dull color. We worked with our supplier to get it just right so it feels luxurious and fresh after years of use.
We use heavy-duty 15-oz. waxed canvas. It has a naturally rugged, distressed look and can be re-waxed to freshen it up.
The canvas comes from a reputable mill that has produced these waxed fabrics since 1930. It comes coated with a special original wax that won't require much cleaning. Stains can be wiped off with a damp cloth.
This water-repellent, industrial-grade textile is from Luna, a San Francisco company specializing in commercial interiors. Coated with water-resistant Nano-tex® material, this adds an extra layer of protection for the custom-fit Sleeves we make with it. We like the texture and eye-popping colors so you can easily spot your Sleeve.
This high-performance textile is made by weaving together two yarn-dyed nylon threads in a unique basketweave creating a vibrant pattern with undertones. It's a classy look that works well in both professional and casual settings. We use this material in our Sleeves and Nintendo Switch cases.
Our Japanese supplier, Toray, known for innovative textiles, fused together two layers of Ultrasuede® to create one super-strong textile that doesn't fray. Perfect for protecting the sleek, naked iPhone, we worked with them to create the color combinations we thought would best complement the iPhone for the Fused Suede Case.
We go to great lengths to find buckles that ensure security and also has a bit of fun to it. We use an authentic heavy-duty paragliding buckle that can hold your body weight and releases quickly.
MAGNETIC FIDLOCK BUCKLE
For lighter loads, we use a highly-secure fidlock buckle that's easy to open, if you know how it's done. Two magnets also make it very easy to close.
CUSTOM-MADE, HI-PERFORMANCE SNAP HOOKS
After years of selling bags, we knew the kind of performance we required. We designed these industrial-grade snap hooks and had it customized to our specifications. They swivel easily to accommodate body movements, making it easier and more comfortable to carry a bag. Feel the difference when used with our Supreme Suspension Shoulder Strap.
LINERS WITH A PURPOSE
NYLON GOLD LINER
We've been using this eye-popping, golden rod-colored nylon liner since our first bags in 1998. We've found the color to be quite helpful in improving the visibility of the interior of backpacks, briefcases, messenger bags, etc.
CASHMERE-LIKE FUZZY LINER
We use a very soft liner for our Sleeves to keep your device protected and cushions the sleek metal from accidental bumps and dings. Put your hand inside one of the Dash Sleeves, and you'll be impressed with the heavenly-soft feel inside.
We use thick neoprene as a liner in our custom-fit SleeveCases, gaming cases, and other gear cases. It helps absorb shock and its smoothness is ideal for slipping a naked laptop into and out of a tight-fitting case.
STRAPS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The straps on the Outback Solo are designed so the bag hangs comfortably against your body. Because it is both a standalone Sleeve and a shoulder bag, the strap neatly tucks away when not in use.
To keep the Sling centered on your back for more stability, the strap pivots according to your movement. This prevents the bag from sliding back and forth on your back. Feel the difference in the Sutter Tech Sling and Field Sling.
We're ready to elevate the underdog of the bag world — the Hip Bag! As we do more walking, running errands, jogging, hiking, etc., we think this is the ideal time to design a hands-free bag to help us enjoy these activities. Will you design this with us?
