“If you're looking for a quality protective sleeve that will last you a lifetime, the SleeveCase should be the one to considered.”
MobilityMinded - June 25, 2009
I love my cases. Good quality.
MacBook Pro fürs very well. Overall great sleeve.
I have a Smart Keyboard cover on my iPad and it is very difficult to fit it into the MacBook sleeve case with my MacBook. I wish it was just a little bit wider/deeper. Hoping with more use it will stretch out to make it easier to accommodate both units. I love the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. High quality product! Other than that I love the appearance and ease of carry.
What can I say. It’s my second case, the first still protects my Pixel C. I like it, does the job, looks smart, feels nice to handle.
I’m slightly obsessive about protecting my devices. I want waterproofing and shock protection, even when the device is going in the rucksack or the pannier because the means streets of Vancouver are both wet and pot-holed (at least they’re pot-holed where the bikes roll. They are an equal opportunity wetness provider.)
I know I could get a neoprene sleeve way cheaper but the build quality has gone way downhill over the years and if it is going to take an hour to get home in the pouring rain I want to feel that the laptop is secure and just enjoy the rain. .
I suspect my teen daughter would have preferred her aging dad to get the black ballistic as more suitable for my dotage as apparently “only hipsters” buy stuff that deliberately looks distressed - and as an aging nerd incapable of a sculpt-able beard I am no hipster (from this or any generation.)
I’m a Mac user since 1988, (System 6.0.4), and over the years I’ve purchased carry cases from a variety of high-end manufacturers including Brenthaven (six or seven times), Tom Bihn, Booq, and CODi.
Waterfield cases are the highest quality and most customized products I’ve encountered. I travel 180+ days a year, so my MacBook Pro and equipment have to be portable and protected. When I got my MBP, I purchased a custom sized MacBook sleeve - Vertical Waxed Canvas, the new Tech Pocket in Canvas, and the Compact size Padded Gear Pouch, again in Canvas. I really like the waxed canvas, no worries about scuffs, and it still look good. Since all the rest of my luggage is black ballistic nylon, I appreciate the contrast for visibility also.
MacBook Sleeve is a perfect fit for my MBP with an outer shell. Great protection even in rain and carrying it on the shoulder works better than I expected. D-rings could be a little larger but they work and seem durable. I would prefer a light 'carry handle' as opposed to a grab handle or the strap - something similar to the small handle on the Brenthaven Tred Flex Sleeve.
I use the Padded Gear Pouch as my ‘airline bag,’ and keep my Kindle Oasis, among other items inside. I like the size and convenience of being able to take this out onboard and have most of what I need for my flight.
I stuff the Tech Pocket with my Apple charging brick and a travel hub. Because Apple’s most inelegant hardware is their charging apparatus, that’s about all I can carry inside, but it works and when I have to, I like the carabiner that lets me clip the Tech Pocket onto the Sleeve.
I really enjoy the luxurious interior of both pouches.
No complaints and 5 star ratings all around. I will sing your praises every chance I get.
Should I get a horizontal or vertical SleeveCase?
We recommend that you match the orientation of the SleeveCase with the bag you plan to stow your laptop in. This allows you to access your laptop without removing the entire Sleeve.
What does D-rings only mean?
D-rings are the metal hardware sewn to the SleeveCase for the optional strap to attach to. If you already own a strap or want to leave the option to add a strap later, you can purchase the D-ring hardware only. If you opt for the suspension strap, the D-rings are included.
What is the loop on the bottom of the SleeveCase?
The loop is to hold on to when removing your laptop - rather than squeezing the SleeveCase and device inside that you are trying to remove - the finger hold makes this work better.
I have a protective case on my Apple laptop, will the SleeveCase fit?
We custom-fit each Apple laptop for a snug fit with the "naked" laptop. Even a slim protective case will make a difference. Send us a quick email and we'll help find the right size for a great fitting SleeveCase.
What is a Suspension Strap?
We call it the "suspension" strap because this strap stretches just a bit, adding a little spring effect so your laptop is a little lighter to carry. The underside of the strap is lined with grippy material so it sits on your shoulder, preventing it from moving around. The strap is removable and snaps onto metal D-rings.
I already have a strap I plan to use. How would I complete the order?
When selecting your Strap Options, please choose "D-rings only". That way, we'll sew the D-rings on for you so you can attach your existing strap.
I need more storage than the rear pocket offers. What should I do?
The Piggybackcomfortably stores your power supply, mouse, hard drive, or phone. Hook the piggyback onto your SleeveCase (D-rings required) when you need the storage and un-hook when you don't.
