Steam Deck Magnetic Case

I really love waterfield products and the quality is still unmatched with this product. I have one issue with this product however, it is a really tight fit which is good from a product protection point of view, but I fear of the pressure that is puts on the stick over time. Not only that it is difficult to pull the steam deck out of the case without triggering the sticks or triggers. I also can’t fit the charger in the case with the steam deck. I think if I had to get a case for the steam deck from Waterfield I’d go with the clicky case.

The case is as all other items purchased from Waterfield, quality. The case has a soft lining inside to assure that the screen is taken care of and fits the Steam Deck perfectly. I waited before making my purchase due to timing but the choice never changed. From the beginning I knew this was the case that as always would deliver the best quality.

A little tight to start on the steam deck OLED fit but I believe it will wear in nicely. The product is high quality as usual and I really appreciate the ease of charging.

The construction and materials of this case are top-notch, and I can't say enough good things about them! One odd thing is that my steam deck feels like it *barely* fits in there, requiring a bit of extra push on my part to get the lid closed. It makes me nervous I'm going to hurt the analog sticks when closing the case. I don't know if that's because I have the OLED version (is that one bigger than the original?) or something, but that's my one critique.

Quality is great and knocks it out of the park, but extremely steep for what it offers in my opinion. The fit is also very very tight. If you have any protective case on your steamdeck, the fit will be very tight, in my case, using the dbrand killswitch, you'll have a hard time closing the carrying case. The pouch also doesn't really protect the joystick that well, and the fact that you can press the joystick by pressing on the outside of the carrying case is worrying, so I'm using it in combination with the dbrand travel cover which makes the fit even tighter. I am able to close everything up, but any pressure on the back on the steamdeck will break the magnetic seal, I feel like actual zippers here would have been better and cheaper to produce than magnets. It looks nice don't get my wrong, but the magnetic closing isn't that strong and just plain annoying to use if you want to use it in tandem with a protective cover for the device.
