Waterfield is the Best

Another great product from WaterField. This is the 2nd switch case I own from WaterField. Love this one even more! Great design and fit/finish. I also have a few other cases and bags for my Apple products and all are amazing. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time and money on other brands. Go right for the best! Thanks Waterfield!

Awesome case, but flawed for price

This case is great in a lot of ways, and has immediately become the one I use in a daily basis. However, this is a premium product, so I'm reviewing it as such and being pretty picky.

The material of this case is mostly excellent. The leather is beautiful, the zippers are strong, the interior is soft, and the canvas is nice. The magnetic snaps do the job well, and I don't have the complaint others seem to about lining them up. However, I do note that the canvas in the front middle is permanently puckered as if there's a bit too much there or it's just not stiffened enough. The bottom corners where it's folded around also seem a bit off.

The design is mostly good. I like that it's not as form-fitting as many cases, since I like to keep my Bluetooth adapter plugged in. It would also be good if you use a case. It's firm enough to feel like your Switch is still safe. The pockets are nice for small accessories (no extra Joy cons or power adapters, obviously). I pretty much keep the interior ones empty.

Here's where I start having issues though: the case is a top-loader, which isn't a problem by itself. However, without an internal pull-ribbon, you need to grab your Switch by the screen to pull it out, smudging it. Instead, there's an exterior loop to hold, which, besides not really being useful, detracts from the otherwise sleek design.

Another design eyesore is the caribeaner loop, which is pretty silly if you don't need it, and paying an extra $10-$20 for one from Waterfield is silly (I wouldn't even want a free one).

Finally, the game storage is disappointing. The built-in slots hold games well, and the cutouts make getting them out easy. However, it only holds 5 games, which is enough to take on a vacation, but not enough to store an entire library (at least in my case). I opted to also buy the 20-game wallet, which is listed as fitting in this case. It does, but not well (the elastic strap gets in the way), and it doesn't have the same cutouts, so ...

What 3rd party power banks fit in the CitySlicker?

A customer confirmed fitting the Anker PowerCore+ 20100 in the rear mesh pocket. Since there are so many options out there, if you do find your favorite brand fitting, please let us know.

What is a production run?

Just like any sewing shop, there's a limited number of units we can produce each week/month while keeping up our high standards. Once we hit our limit, the production run is cutoff and we begin taking orders for the new production run with a new promise date.

What is the red pocket?

The red pocket is made from Ultrasuede micro-fiber which protects the Switch screen and also helps to clean the screen every time you insert and remove your Switch.

What type of leather do you use?

We use naturally-tanned, lightly treated leather. Each piece is one of a kind and displays the natural texture of the hide. Over time the leather should show character like a good leather bomber jacket.

How do you suggest I clean the ballistic nylon?

The ballistic nylon is *very* durable and will take scrubbing with a stiff brush and mild soap. Blot with towels/rags and let the case dry out. This should have the case looking good as new.

How do you suggest I clean the leather?

Actually, we suggest not doing anything. Part of the beauty of highly distressed leather develops as it gets used over time— with rain or getting bumped around. Leather conditioners will darken and alter the leather, maybe not something you desire. If at some point you want to condition the leather - we suggesting using Mink Oil. This will darken a bit at first - but will keep the leather very nice. You can also spread the oils around and smooth them out a bit with a hair dryer and your hand. Any leather discoloration or marks are straight from the actual hide itself; it's part of the character of the leather. That’s how you know it’s the real thing. Each hide has it own look; it's unique just like you. With naturally tanned leather, there's always going to be a bit of character on it that's hard to control. It's one of the reasons we like it so much, you'll always be getting a one-of-a-kind bag.
