Our first-ever, all-leather crossbody, the Hudson, blends sophisticated styling with modern functionality. We use only premium, full-grain leather and handsew each one in small batches in San Francisco. The Hudson's unique design features a double-layer leather flap and an innovative dual magnetic closure system.

The Hudson Leather Crossbody is part of our All-Leather Collection, bags that blend timeless style and quality materials with uncompromising functionality. Each bag is individually constructed and requires longer lead times for a complete production.

A Crossbody Done Right

The Hudson Leather Crossbody has slotted into my daily carry perfectly. The build is unmistakably WaterField — solid, thoughtful, and made to last. The leather is gorgeous straight out of the box and is already taking on character.

Size is spot on for what I actually carry day-to-day, and the layout feels intentional rather than over-designed. The strap is comfortable, the hardware feels premium, and it just works — whether I’m travelling, heading into meetings, or out with the family.

Another brilliant piece from the SF workshop. This one’s staying in the rotation.

Fantastic little bag

Very high quality leather, tight magnetic seal and the exterior clasp is strong and provides and added layer of security. It’s extremely stylish and not too big, eager to take it on my next trip!

Great Everyday Carry crossbody

A very high quality, well built and stylish crossbody. The size is ideal for me, I can fit in my phone, keys, charger, small tote bag and DAP. I've also used it to carry my Sony A7RV with 35mm GM lens around, although this fills up pretty much the whole space and the Fidlock buckle becomes a little hard to close/open with it. Unlike my other crossbody the Hudson always stands on its own.

Amazing bag

Magnetic buckle and closure are amazing. Super well made as usual.

I wish you had a leather strap option (at least for the black color). That would be amazing. Keep the bag as is, just add an option to substitute a leather strap. I’d even be ok if it wasn’t adjustable length. Bonus point if it’s magnetically adjustable length.

Excellent Bag

I have various pouch and bags made from Waterfield. The bag-built quality looks great. The modern design such as Fidlock buckle and hidden magnetic closure helps easy access with one hand. Thanks Waterfield continuous effort to make such great bag for me.

HERITAGE MEETS INNOVATION

The Hudson blends heritage craftsmanship with modern conveniences for a unique look. Instead of a zipper, it has a novel magnetic closure using a string of rare-earth magnets. Simply slip your hand into the Crossbody to retrieve your phone, camera, or other necessities.

EASY-CLOSE FLAP

A modern-day magnetic Fidlock buckle secures the double-layer leather flap with very little effort.

To open, simply slide the buckle to the left. To close, the two sides are magnetically drawn together and will shut automatically with a satisfying click.

FULL-GRAIN LEATHER

The authentic, full-grain leather we use to make the Hudson Crossbody is absolutely beautiful. See it, touch it, and you'll be hooked.

The distressed leather develops a beautiful patina, and your bag will age well as the years roll by.

HOW YOUR CROSSBODY GETS MADE

Here's a glimpse of how our design team developed the Hudson Crossbody from idea to reality. Their creative process involves hands-on work every step of the way as they dial down the design to create something beautiful and functional.

CARING FOR YOUR LEATHER BAG

We usually recommend not doing anything to the full-grain leather of your Hudson Crossbody, letting it develop its own beautiful patina. However, you may want to freshen it up a bit with a leather conditioner. Gary shows you how in this video for the Cozmo Leather Briefcase.

The leather may darken a bit, so test the reaction first on a spot that's not highly visible, like the bottom of the bag. For the distressed leather we use, you can spread the oils around and smooth them out with heat from a hair dryer.
