Now that I have to go in to the office full time again, I found it necessary to have a proper carrying solution for the few things that I lug around all the time. I've pared it down to just having my iPad mini 6, a set of wireless ear buds, my inhaler, lip balm, and slim wallet. Yeah, technically any of the bags I already had could fit these things, but they were all just too big and I was tired of carrying even small bags around but even most slings were too big (or way too small). I also wanted something stylish, now that we are all out in public for extended periods of time again. And now that I'm fully embracing my dad-core self, something with leather. All of the boxes were checked off with my new Marqui Crossbody Pouch.
The hardest decision I had to make was whether I wanted the brown leather and waxed canvas in small, or the blue leather with nylon in large, since I wasn't sure if carrying my iPad around all the time was really what I wanted to be doing. I'm glad I went with the larger size, though, because it's nice to have the option.
All in all, I am a huge fan of this bag. The inner lining is such a cool fabric that contrasts great against the exterior and really does allow you to see things inside much easier. And even with it all filled up with the things that I've decided are essential, it still doesn't feel bulky or bulging with weird shapes.
Since it's so new, the zipper is a little tough to start to slide closed when the bag is open all the way. I've found that pinching it from the bottom with one finger helps to get it going. I'm sure that once I break it in a little, it'll ease up.
The adjustable cam lock is pretty nifty, however, since I wear the bag so high up (to prevent it swinging around), it ends up rubbing against my collar bone or even my trapezius. If the strap was a little shorter to begin with, it wouldn't be a problem. I'm sure that I can take it in to a local tailor or shoe repair place to get the strap cut and resewn, I can see where it is looped in and it doesn't seem like that much of an operation. I may even have a go at it myself.
And speaking of the strap, I would have loved it if instead of the metal loop, there was a buckle, maybe even a Fidlock V-buckle. Since I frequently wear the bag between my work shirt and my hoodie, it would be nice to be able to remove it when I get to my desk without having to take the arm out of my sweatshirt. As this is a bit more complicated spot to do a DIY retrofit on, this may just be one of those things that I wish I had on the bag.
As long as I'm throwing out wishlist items, a dedicated pen slot and a key strap would have been the icing on the cake.
Now, all of the above are not complaints, just comments and observations. I definitely have no feelings of buyer's remorse and have worn my bag proudly every day since I received it. It's also got me reconsidering grabbing the brown leather and waxed canvas in small, just to have for the days that I'm not feeling so flashy and just want to have my phone with me (but not in my pocket).
