Two soft Ultrasuede®-lined pockets protect your phone and glasses from scratches, while an authentic paragliding buckle adds a modern edge to the classic leather design. Wear it across your chest, over your shoulder, or remove the strap and use it as a compact gear pouch.

Handcrafted in small batches in San Francisco, the thick full-grain leather develops a rich patina that gets better with age.

My new favourite bag

I bought my first Waterfield bag in July 2026 and immediately fell head over heels for the company. Since then, I’ve bought six more pieces, all of which have been just as fabulous as the first.

But the Gramercy… this one is incredible and, by far, my favourite bag. It’s everything I hoped for and more. I was a little worried it might be too small, but I took the gamble anyway and I’m so glad I did. My 7” Kindle Colorsoft in its case fits perfectly in the device compartment. If you have WaterField’s Large Vista Magnetic Glasses Case, that fits too! The leather is thick and substantial enough that the bag stands up perfectly on its own, which I absolutely love. If you’re on the fence about this bag like I was, just do it. You won’t be disappointed. I genuinely could not be happier with this purchase and I’m already planning my next one.

Huge thanks to Maria, Gary, and the entire Waterfield crew for the above-and-beyond service. They were incredibly prompt, friendly, and helpful with every question I had. I was looking for a high-quality sling bag, and after spending quite some time searching online, I came across the WaterField Gramercy Leather Sling – and I’m very glad I did.

CARING FOR YOUR LEATHER BAG

We usually recommend not doing anything to the full-grain leather of your Gramercy Sling, letting it develop its own beautiful patina. However, you may want to freshen it up a bit with a leather conditioner. Gary shows you how in this video for the Cozmo Leather Briefcase. 

The leather may darken a bit, so test the reaction first on a spot that's not highly visible, like the bottom of the bag. For the distressed leather we use, you can spread the oils around and smooth them out with heat from a hair dryer.
