Really like the brief! It’s smart, functional and very well made.

I shopped 65 - yes, really - bags searching for the following characteristics: all-leather, detachable strap with shoulder pad, top handle(s), luggage loop, and lining with reasonable overall weight and volume. When Waterfield teased their new, all leather brief arriving March '26 I knew I'd wait and see. Lexington is an impressive bag with a price to match. It met all my criteria. My Chocolate bag feels like a premium, long-term companion rather than a short-lived accessory. That said, I have two concerns. Across their lines, Waterfield uses PU-coated zippers that can degrade over time. It's an odd choice on an otherwise lifetime-grade product. Also, the distinctive paragliding buckle on the small exterior pocket is overkill for such a modest space. I wish the pocket was larger and a magnetic closure was used. Perhaps a 2.0 version will correct these issues. Nevertheless, this is a beautiful bag, and I appreciate the classy service, extra gifts (mouse pad, eyeglass case and tech wire clasps) and the memorable handwritten note from Gary.

I have faithfully bought WaterField gear for more than a decade and it never disappoints! This latest brief might be the holy grail between function a s style. The all leather look makes a statement- I’ve alresdy gotten comments at coffee shops! And the interior is smartly organized with the right number of pockets and features to support a busy workday. It is also ideal for work travel. Congratulations on another timeless peace!

Classy and Rugged

My Lexington Leather Brief has become a constant travel companion, keeping my office at my side at home, during travel and at conferences. The suspension shoulder strap might be the best shoulder strap I've ever used! For all the weight inside the brief, I don't feel any strain thanks to that shoulder strap and how padded yet elastic it is.

Great Leather Brief that could benefit from larger front pocket

The quality of this leather brief is great as expected from Waterfield. Interior is roomy and handles my MacBook Air 15, MacBook Pro 14, iPad 12.9 and remarkable perfectly. Interior pockets for chargers and pens a good. Only issue I have had is internal pockets don’t have room for my mouse and the external pocket is very tight for my mouse. If the front pocket was “expandable” by an inch or so this brief would be perfect.

The front pocket holds frequently accessed items, eliminating the need to open the entire bag. Inside, the bright gold liner enhances visibility so you can quickly scan the contents to find what you need.

CARING FOR YOUR LEATHER BAG

We usually recommend leaving the full-grain leather of your Lexington Leather Brief as is and allowing it to develop its own beautiful patina. However, if you’d like to freshen it up from time to time, you can use a leather conditioner — Gary demonstrates how in this video for the Cozmo Leather Briefcase.

Because the leather may darken slightly, first test the conditioner on a discreet area like the bottom of the bag. You can also use a hair dryer to warm the leather’s natural oils so they smooth and spread evenly.
